Whether you’re just starting out or have been canoeing for years, the Boundary Waters Canoe Area makes the perfect escape. Located along the Minnesota-Canadian border, the BWCA is the only designated canoe wilderness area in northern America. Here, millions of acres of lakes and streams, interconnected by portages, have been set aside for canoeing, camping, fishing, and fun. Outfitters offer all the equipment and advice you need to make your wilderness experience comfortable, safe, and rewarding. In addition to the BWCA, outfitters serve rivers throughout Minnesota, including six designated wild and scenic routes.

In the winter, outfitters arrange guided trips deep into the northern wilderness by dog sled, cross-country ski and snowshoe.
